Qi Gong in kindergarten - encounters on a heart level

In cooperation with the daycare centers House of Little Hands (Walldorf) and House of Little Feet (St. Leon Rot), this project examines the effect of an intervention consisting of Qi Gong and meditation on the heart-brain coherence of children and educators. The Chinese practice of Qi Gong has been used for centuries to improve physical and mental health. More specifically, Qi Gong is a form of moving meditation that involves gentle movements, stretching exercises, deep breathing and relaxation. Qi Gong aims to improve the flow of energy in the body. The use of Qi Gong in kindergarten is new and must be modified and implemented in a child-friendly manner. This child-friendly variant of Qi Gong will be documented in the form of a publication.

Current status: Qi Gong has been carried out in individual groups at the daycare centers in Walldorf and St. Leon-Rot for several months. The children and teachers are gaining more and more experience with the method. A publication on the implementation instructions* was published in 2024 and is available from the Institute for Compassion.

* Further training is also required for implementation; this can be carried out in the facility. Please send inquiries to info@institute-for-compassion.de
