Soli-AG

Self-organization of social projects at school

The aim of the Soli-AG project is to establish practical social work in the sense of solidarity, sustainability and ecology at schools in such a way that it creates a field of learning and experience of its own for young people in and outside of curricular lessons. The focus is on personality and social aspects: beyond theory, memorization and abstract-distant reference to the world, experiences of meaningful self-efficacy and thus sustainable personality development are to be made possible.

The direct experience of mindfulness and compassion should help to experience intra- and inter-individual coherence. The young people learn to reflect on themselves and to get in touch with themselves even more. The object of the Soli-AG is the organization and implementation of solidarity projects.

Participation in the AG is voluntary. The AG is offered for the upper school. The content and form of the solidarity projects are up to the participating students. The model of the solidarity workshop has been in existence at the Hebel Gymnasium Schwetzingen for 12 years.

Previous projects could be implemented in the areas of:

- Integration of refugees

- Support for the elderly and sick

- Environmental action (collecting garbage, planting trees, etc.)

- Collection for Tafel

In this project we want to complement the concept of the Soli-AG with content from the areas of Compassion (compassion) and Mindfulness (mindfulness). Thus, the leadership of the Soli-AG will receive inspiration and support from the Institute for Compassion (IfC).
